It's impressive nature, carved out at the end of the ice age, is both crowd pleasing in its magnificence, and spectacular for its picturesque beauty. The villages of Bowness-on-Windermere and Windermere itself have also been a focus. Deep Water, Safe House, Snow White & The Huntsman and Peter Rabbit are just a few that have taken advantage of this particular stretch of water. The most popular was that of Staveley Village and the Kentmere Valley, although Bowness-on-Windermere and Lakeside were also used. Chosen for its typical village and rural setting the premise of 3 families of different backgrounds and financial situation navigated their way through life. 2 cottages in the village were used as homes, the Kentmere Valley showed one characters business and the local primary school was also utilised as a meeting place of the parents each day.
