2:30 PM: Visit Shirakawa-go Gassan Village, the third village registered as a World Heritage Site. It's like a kingdom of streams and forests, and you can feel the beauty of nature here. This will take approximately 90 minutes. Tickets for the Kanda family are not included but are recommended. Shirakawa-go's limited winter illuminations are held a few times yearly, making it seem like a fairy-tale world.
4:00 PM: Departure from Shirakawa-go and return to Nagoya Station.
6:30 PM: Arrival at Nagoya Station.

Discovering the Charming Old Streets of Takayama
The old townscape of Takayama is a must-visit tourist spot in Hida Takayama. It is always bustling with visitors, irrespective of the time of your visit. The old streets are characterized by trellised latticework, irrigation canals flowing under the eaves, and "sakebayashi" - a signboard made of cedar leaves - hanging down at sake breweries. The eaves are lined with noren curtains of long-established stores and the large doors of townhouses, further enhancing the place's charm.
Hida Shirakawa-go - Japan's Hidden Gem
Gassho-zukuri is a traditional architectural style thatched roof building. The Gassho-zukuri village in Hida Shirakawa-go is a World Heritage Site known for its over 100 Gassho-zukuri buildings of various sizes that are still inhabited. You can also explore other tourist attractions highlighting traditional wisdom and techniques, including Hirase Onsen, known for its hot springs from the sacred mountain Hakusan.
