Enjoy kayaking past striking rock formations and dramatic cliffs where seabirds soar overhead. This is a kayaking journey through a scenic area designated as part of the Niseko-Shakotan-Otaru Coast Quasi-National Park. Located about a 1 hour 20 minute drive from Sapporo, it's one of Hokkaido's most iconic scenic spots. The peninsula juts out into the Sea of Japan, lined with dramatic cliffs and a complex coastline — paddle up close to it all with a double-bladed paddle as you take in the beautiful Shakotan Blue waters.
