Tour was well explained by the tour guide. Anyway, we chose this because it would reach Jiufen around 5pm and we intended to stay 1 night there. So the timing was just right for us.

Seems like tour is a combines group for Japanese and English with the tour guide speaking znd addressing the Japanese more. Guide did not provide much commentary, merely coordination without much narration e.g. for lantern lighting, no explanation of how this practice started and not told about writing message on lantern.
