Step away from the city and immerse yourself in the coastal charm of northern Kyoto with a day tour to Amanohashidate and Ine Funaya, two of Japan’s most breathtaking hidden treasures. Start at Amanohashidate, one of Japan’s celebrated Three Scenic Views. This 3.6-kilometre pine-lined sandbar stretches gracefully across Miyazu Bay and is often called the “Bridge to Heaven.” Ride a cable car or monorail (JPY850) to the mountaintop observatory, where the view transforms into the shape of a flying dragon when seen upside down—a tradition known as matanozoki. With inviting walking paths, seasonal scenery, and family-friendly spaces, Amanohashidate is a place of beauty in every season.
Continue on to Ine Funaya, a peaceful fishing village often referred to as the “Venice of Japan.” Lining the bay are picturesque wooden boathouses, or funaya, built directly above the water—an architectural style that reflects the community’s close connection to the sea. Wander along the waterfront, take in the gentle rhythm of village life, and learn about the area’s fishing heritage. Blending natural beauty with cultural charm, this coastal escape offers a slower pace and a deeper connection to Japan’s traditions.

Our guide is Mr Liu, he has a good communication regarding location and time, and also very communicative and proactive to tourist members. Good job to Mr Liu. Keep it the hardwork.
It was a lovely experience from beginning till end. Our host Liu was very proactive and kept us aware of every logistics bit. What stood out for me was his timely communication regarding location and time. Overall the place is a must visit.
We booked the tour for 14 September Sunday and had a good experience! The itinerary was well spaced out and had sufficient time for each attraction. Views were beautiful and feeding the seagulls with Calbee was very fun Overall the tour was worth it as Ama-no-Hashidate and Ine is quite far from Osaka and public transportation is less there. Guided tour made it a relaxing experience as the tour bus would take you from point to point, and guide would take care of the tickets Our guide, Jay was friendly, funny and guided the tour in 3 languages ( Japanese, English and Chinese). He explained each attraction on the bus and also gave us options/ recommendations on where to eat.
All good, thank you!
The tour guide Matthew was great, explained the itinerary in detail. He was very kind and offered to help us take a family photo. He can speak many languages including English, Chinese, Japanese even Cantonese!
The locations are worth visiting and the experience of feeding the seagulls were great. Do not that it is a bit far from Osaka, let alone that my bus picks up passengers from Kyoto and made the journey even longer. I suggest our guide Jay to slow down his speech and try to be as concise as possible. That will help his clients to avoid confusion and misunderstanding.
