Be fascinated as the magical world of Hobbiton comes to life and take photos in front of your favourite places like the Hobbit Holes, the Shire and the Green Dragon Inn. Then journey to the World Famous Waitomo Glowworm Caves and be captivated by the thousands of magical glowworms twinkling in the Grottos, the stalactites and stalagmites as you glide silently through the cave by boat. Hobbit Holes, The Green Dragon Inn, The Mill and other structures can be viewed and you will see how this beautiful piece of Waikato farmland was transformed into the Shire from Middle-earth. Visit and explore inside the newly built fully themed Hobbit Hole on Bagshot Row. Complimentary specially brewed beverages are available at the Green Dragon Inn as you complete your tour. Be amazed by the thousands of magical glowworms as you glide silently by boat in the world famous Waitomo Glowworm Caves. Your guide on this 45-minute tour will likely be a descendant of the Maori Chief who originally explored the Caves and can share with you the remarkable history of the area. Walk through the majestic Cathedral Cave famous for its acoustics Your return trip to Auckland will then take you initially through some of New Zealand’s most beautiful countryside before following northwards the majestic Waikato River, the longest river in New Zealand, part of the way back to Auckland. You will pass Ngaruawahia, the home of the Maori King; Taupiri with its very sacred Maori burial ground. To complete that day, you will be taken back to your hotel in the Auckland CBD.

this tour is 10/10. Danny is an exceptional and very professional tour guide. He told us about the history if new zealan, and every famous town that we passed by while he was driving. He also knows all the guest name and address us in our first name. He also makes sure that everyone is good and comfortable. Lunch is included and less hassle of queing on the attractions. High recommended
The Hobbiton is really a very unique experience even for non-fans. My 6 year old daughter had never watched the movie and enjoyed pretending to be a hobbit the entire time. The provider also took care of my husband who unexpectedly broke his foot and was partially unable to walk and found options for him in Hobbiton and the Waitomo Glow worm caves.
The tour was great! Manage to see all of the sights on time, and despite it being a large group the guide handed it well!
It was the only tour combining Hobbiton and Waitomo Caves that we could find. The pace of the tour was perfect and the journey was smooth and on time with stops for breakfast, lunch (included) and a surprise ice cream treat from the tour company. We managed to get back to town in time for dinner. Special shout out to our guide Nelson who was highly energised and humourous and broke the ice for the group. He also shared alot about New Zealand along the way and highlights the many landmarks that we passed and stories behind them. Transport was new and comfortable with charging ports.

At Hobbiton Movie Set, Sebastian was a fantastic guide within the studio itself. Knowledgeable, engaging, and passionate, he brought the set to life with behind-the-scenes stories and details that made the experience even more immersive and enjoyable. Overall, a very well-run tour with strong guiding throughout. Highly recommended for anyone wanting a seamless, informative, and memorable experience exploring Hobbiton and beyond.
