Your guide tells the notorious tale of Burke and Hare, who abandoned grave robbing for something worse — murdering victims to sell their fresh bodies to the anatomist Dr Robert Knox. You'll hear how terrified families guarded graves behind mortsafes and watch-houses, and how the scandal forced Parliament to pass the Anatomy Act of 1832.
