Located in Asahikawa, Hokkaido, Asahiyama Zoo is one of the most popular zoos

offering a zoo experience like no other.

Winter Highlight | Adorable Penguin Walk

From around late December to mid-March each year, watch the penguins waddle
across the snow up close and enjoy one of the most heartwarming moments of a
Hokkaido winter! Note: The actual dates and times of the Penguin Walk depend
on snow conditions, the penguins' health, and the zoo's arrangements. Please
refer to the latest announcements on the Asahiyama Zoo official website.

• Biei Chiyoda Farm

In winter, Biei Chiyoda Farm offers a snow country experience unique to
Hokkaido. Ride a snowmobile across pure white snowfields with views of the
majestic Tokachi Mountain Range for a dose of speed and thrills, or take a
walk around the farm to find the small animals spending the winter tucked away
in its far corners and meet ponies, alpacas, and black-faced lambs up close.
And no trip to Hokkaido is complete without rich, creamy Jersey milk, a tasty
treat to enjoy between all the winter fun in Biei.

Note: Depending on visitor numbers at the farm on the day, this stop may be
changed to Panoramic Flower Gardens Shikisai-no-oka.

Note: In late winter, as the weather gradually warms, snow at the farm may
decrease and the snowmobile experience may not be available due to
insufficient snow. Even if snowmobiling is unavailable, other activities at
the farm will operate as usual, and you can still interact with the animals
and enjoy the farm's food and ice cream.

• Panoramic Flower Gardens Shikisai-no-oka

In winter, Shikisai-no-oka is blanketed in snow, revealing a silver-white
landscape completely different from its summer flower fields. Try
snowmobiling, sledding, and other winter activities to experience the charm of
a Hokkaido winter. With the vast snowfields and the Tokachi Mountain Range as
a backdrop, take in the romantic winter scenery unique to Furano and Biei.

• Ningle Terrace

This place is like a secret garden hidden in Furano, where wooden cabins and
boardwalks make you feel as if you've stepped into a fairy tale. Each cabin
showcases handicrafts inspired by Hokkaido and full of local character, from
paintings made with seeds and paper-cut art depicting Hokkaido landscapes to
handmade necklaces shaped like tiny snowflakes, each reflecting the creativity
of local artisans.

Note: If Ningle Terrace cannot be visited due to traffic issues, severe
weather such as blizzards, or visitor limits at the facility, the stop will be
replaced with a 30-minute visit to Takushinkan. Thank you for your
understanding.

• Takushinkan

Converted from the former Chiyoda Elementary School, which has since closed,
Takushinkan displays the work of renowned Hokkaido landscape photographer
Shinzo Maeda. Beside the small building is a birch tree corridor; in winter,
the snow-covered grove is quiet and pure, as if you've stepped into a Hokkaido
fairy tale.

• Biei Blue Pond

Biei Blue Pond is located on the left bank of the Biei River in Hokkaido,
Japan, at an altitude of approximately 500 meters. The pond's water is a
clear, azure blue, and it is often shrouded in mist, creating a hazy, ethereal
beauty. As the seasons, weather, and surroundings subtly change, the water
takes on a range of colors, which, together with the surrounding forest,
create a unique and captivating landscape.

• Seven Stars Tree

In 1976, this oak tree and the surrounding hills were featured on the
packaging of Japan's Seven Stars cigarettes, which gave the tree its name.
Standing alone in the vast farmland, it quietly watches over the Biei hills
and has become one of the area's signature photo spots.

• Ken & Mary Tree

The Ken & Mary Tree is a birch tree standing in the farmland of Furano, which
rose to fame after appearing in a Nissan Skyline commercial in the 1970s. The
birch tree symbolizes purity, beauty, resilience, and vitality, while the
romantic couple "Ken" and "Mary" in the ad gave it its meaning of love. Today,
with its deep symbolism and captivating scenery, the tree has become a
favorite photo spot for visitors.

• Patchwork Road

Rather than a landscape designed on purpose, Patchwork Road is a living
tapestry woven by generations of Biei farmers. As different crops change with
the seasons, the rolling hills naturally unfold in layers of color, like
patches of fabric hand-stitched by the earth itself, quietly connecting time,
land, and the labor of the people. Following the undulating slopes, you are
not just seeing beautiful rural scenery but witnessing the rhythm of life in
Hokkaido: working with the four seasons, respecting the land, and quietly
nurturing the harvest.

• Shirahige Falls

Shirahige Falls is located in the Shirogane Onsen area of Biei Town, at an
altitude of 600 meters, with a drop of 30 meters. The waterfall was named
"Shirahige" (meaning "white beard") because the water cascades down through
cracks in the rocks like a flowing white beard. The water gushing from
underground also crashes against the rocks, creating spray that shimmers with
a blue light for a spectacular and pleasant sight. Note: From July 1 to
September 15, the tour will skip Shirahige Falls and visit Farm Tomita instead
(60-minute stop).

• Farm Tomita | Seasonal Stop (July 1–September 15 Only)

The most captivating colors of Hokkaido's summer can be found at Farm Tomita.
Lavender sways gently in the breeze, filling the air with a delicate floral
fragrance, making it feel as if time itself has slowed down. Beyond lavender,
the farm is also home to a variety of seasonal flowers. As the seasons change,
the colors of the flower fields keep shifting, painting a new landscape each
time. Take a leisurely stroll among the blooms and savor the popular lavender
