Here at the Maya Devi Temple, one can actually see a footprint left by the infant Buddha upon his birth. Walk along the peaceful canal that leads to monasteries reflecting the lands where Buddhism has spread. This is an overnight trip from Kathmandu, first by flight, then private vehicle to Lumbini. Tour during the day, and in the evening spend time at the reflecting pond overlooking the sacred birthplace in the ultimate of spiritual experiences.
