You local host Jorge will welcome you with a warm smile and some lovely music playing in the background - Jorge has a collection of more than 1000 vinilos! The passionate cook can also make a wide variety of traditional Chilean dishes with a modern touch.


Jorge offers a hands-on experience, where you will get to cook along with him in his small kitchen. The cooking portion of the experience will last for 1 hour during which you will learn to make an appetizer and dessert. A few dishes that you might try are palta reina with tuna (tuna stuffed avocado), fresh bruschetta with Chilean canned mussels, pastel de papas (a classic dish made in Chilean homes, not always found in restaurants, similar to a shepherd’s pie) and Chilean papayas with cream.

    Meet Jorge and Mariela, whose love story began at a concert where Jorge was performing. Jorge is a professional musician who is well known in Chile, and music is an important part of the experience — you may even hear songs from his collection of more than 1000 vinyl records. Jorge learned to cook from his grandmother, who prepared meals for the whole family, inspiring his passion for traditional Chilean cuisine. Mariela, a tour guide who speaks Spanish, English, and Portuguese, brings her global perspective and warmth to the experience. You’ll meet Jorge at his home and enjoy a cooking demonstration! Learn to prepare 1–2 traditional Chilean dishes before sharing an authentic, fresh, home-cooked meal together, accompanied by stories, food, and music.
