Highlights

Immerse yourself in a 2 hours 45 minutes gastronomic experience in San Sebastian where you go from diner to cook: a practical cooking master class in one of our secret kitchens in the Old Town, led by an expert chef with translation provided if needed.

You will learn key techniques of Basque cuisine by preparing iconic dishes such as creamy Spanish omelette, perfectly emulsified cod al pil pil, stuffed piquillo peppers, and the celebrated Basque cheesecake, finishing with a tasting of what you cooked paired with red wine, txakoli or cider.

We work in a small group so you can refine cuts, timing, and sauces, and take home recipes you can replicate along with professional tricks and advice on local produce.

This culinary experience connects you with the spirit of Donostia / San Sebastian, a city surrounded by one of the highest concentrations of Michelin stars in the world, an international benchmark that explains the local obsession with technique, flavour, and seasonality.

Itinerary

  • Alameda del Blvd., 25

Join a hands-on Basque cooking class in the heart of San Sebastian’s Old Town and discover the techniques behind some of the region’s most iconic dishes. During this small-group culinary experience, an expert local chef will guide you step by step as you prepare a traditional Basque menu in one of our private kitchens. You will learn how to cook classic recipes such as tortilla de patata (Spanish omelette), bacalao al pil pil (cod in a traditional garlic and olive oil emulsion), stuffed piquillo peppers, and the famous Basque cheesecake. Along the way, the chef will share professional tips, cooking techniques, and insights into local ingredients and Basque gastronomy. After the class, sit down and enjoy the dishes you have prepared together, accompanied by local drinks such as red wine, txakoli, or cider. This experience offers a delicious introduction to the culinary culture of Donostia / San Sebastian, one of the world’s great gastronomic destinations.
