This is an extention tour of Dazu Rock Carvings. Most tour products offer only one site called Baoding, this extention tour covers both 2 sites in Dazu-Baoding and Beishan. Beishan site is less known for it's kind of isolated, and most tour companies would cut it off for lower price, plus most local guides were not trained for this site.
Beishan is a learning site fits those peace and quietness seekers, cultural historical learners. Enjoy a roughly 2 hours ride through the country side of Chongqing then get to Baoding site, the major part of Dazu Carvings. Dazu rock carvings is a massive ancient Buddhsim stone carving was built in Song dynasty, 800 years old. Over 10'000 statues were carved on vertical cliff, pretty much represents Chinese ancient religious art style and carving skill. Meawhile it's also functions like a Buddhism institute and holy site bring prayers and redemption to all Buddists. In 1999 Dazu Rock Carvings were inscribed on World Heritage List by UNESCO.
