Alberto Aveleyra, ethnohistorian of the National School of Anthropology is the curator of the Archaeological Exhibit of the Historical Museum of San Miguel (the House of Allende), founded in October 2022. Alberto is a published author and one of the main researchers of the site. The famous magazine Arqueología Mexicana just published his theory on Cañada de la Virgen archaeological site (Arqueologia Mexicana no. 186, 2024), you can check this an other articles in his academia.edu web page. Because the lack of support of the government, Alberto is funding his research through the tours he offers in the site. He does not have comments in tripadvisor because he has been selling his tours thorugh airbnb where you can see the comments of his experience, one of the best rated in that portal.
His research proposes that the site probably was the sanctuary of Colhuacan Chicomoztoc, "The place where they have ancestors" "The place of the Seven caves", the place of origen of Aztecs and Toltecs.
