Climbing Mount Kinabalu is an incredible experience, however some preparation
has to be made in order to be allowed to climb the mountain, such as
Transportation to go there, applying climbing permit, arranging mountain
guide, booking accommodation & meals when you are there However we make it

Pick-up from your hotel lobby and depart on a 2 hrs journey to Kinabalu Park Headquarter. Collect your packed lunch.09:00
Our guide will arrange for all necessary registrations, assign you a mountain guide and apply for your ID TAG. Remember to wear your ID TAG at all times.You'll then be transferred to starting point – Timpohon Gate – where your journey and quest to the summit of Borneo’s highest mountain begins! The climb will take approximately 4-5 hours.

Transfer back to Kota Kinabalu city. Journey takes approx. 2 hrs.

- The itinerary is for reference only, and subject to any necessary changes in accordance to local requirements
- Drinking Water / Hot Water: Balsam Cafe & Laban Rata Restaurant are no longer provide hot water/drinking water for climbers. Mineral water is available for purchase at the grocery counter – MYR 7 for 500ml / MYR 14 for 1.5 liters. Coffee & Tea will only be provided during breakfast and supper.
- The minimum age eligible for Via Ferrata Walk The Torq package is 10 years old and atleast 1.3m tall. Exceptions to the minimum criteria will NOT be entertained by the Accommodation Provider.
- Porter FeeLunch will be converted to packed meal on Day 02 (Mt Kinabalu Descent) for climbers who arrive late and missed the local restaurant's opening hours. (Restaurant Business Hour 07:00hrs - 20:00hrs)
- After descending to Kinabalu Park HQ, climbers are subject to pre-determined pickup time set by the operator with the last transport returning to Kota Kinabalu city latest by 1930hrs. We will ensure your possible wait of not more than 2 hours at Park HQ. However, if you missed the last transport (which is unlikely) or wish to depart at your own preferred timing, we can arrange a vehicle for private transfer for you (Subject to availability). Please understand that the surcharge for any private transfer will have to be borne by you.
- Mount Kinabalu climb packages include a personal accident plan by Sabah Parks for all climbers. Provision is as below:
- Death Due to Accident Only / Total Disablement as a Result of An Accident
- Age Between 13 to 75 Years RM50,000 Per Climber
- Age Below 13 And Above 75 Years RM30,000 Per Climber
- Medical Expenses Per Accident
- Age Between 13 to 75 Years RM5,000 Per Climber
- Age Below 13 And Above 75 Years RM2,000 Per Climber
- Repatriation Expenses of Remains RM2,000
Note: As the default claim value is limited and may takes up to 2 months to process. It is advisable for climbers to purchase separate travel insurance in your own country for a better coverage.
Reminders
Due to the special condition of this product, please expect the voucher to be within 5 working days once the booking confirmed.
Climbers are allowed to hike to the mountain hut on day 1, even if it is raining; Sabah Park has the right to close the gate to the summit on day 2 due to safety reasons. There will be no refund / postponement in this case
Climbers MUST present their original passports/IC for climb registration at Kinabalu Park HQ on the actual day of climb. Please bring it along with you.
Climbers MUST attend the compulsory Via Ferrata briefing/training session in Pendant Hut between 15:00hrs-16:00hrs (Latest Cut-off time) on 1st day of climb.
Climbers MUST descend & arrive at starting point by 06:30hrs (LPC) or 07:15hrs (WTT) for each activities (Latest Cut-off time) on 2nd day of climb.
All Via Ferrata activities will be conducted together in mix groups by qualified Mountain Torq Ferrata trainers
Climbers who fail to comply with the timing will not be able to proceed with the selected Via Ferrata Teaser activity. NO reimbursement shall be made.
Via Ferrata activity can be cancelled due to bad weather for the safety of all climbers, NO reimbursement shall be made
Please do not rush or be disappointed should you not be able to make it on time or if the activity is cancelled. Safety comes first, as you can still reach the Low’s Peak summit without going through the Via Ferrata activity
Operators reserves the right to change or cancel the customer’s reservation in accordance with operating requirements or circumstances beyond its control. For some Climbing Itineraries to operate successfully, a minimum number of customers are required. Should the number of customers fail to reach the minimum number required, Operators reserves the right to cancel the customer’s reservation.
In the event of above situation occurring and if an alternative climbing activity is not available or acceptable to the customer, the customer will be entitled to either a full refund or transfer to another Operators activity/itinerary without payment of any transfer fee. The customer agrees that if it selects to transfer to another Operators activity/itinerary of higher value, the difference in price between the original selected Mountain Torq Activity and the newly selected Operators activity/itinerary will the borne by the customer.
If the change or cancellation is due to force majeure events (including without limitation political unrest, war or threat of war, riots, civil strife, closure of airports or ports, industrial disputes, terrorist activity, natural and nuclear disasters, fire, epidemic or health risk, Acts of God, flood, adverse weather conditions or other similar events beyond Operators' control), the customer agrees that no refund will be made by Operators.
Operators reserves the right to change or cancel the activities if the safety of the customers and / or Operators staff will be compromised. The customer agrees that no form of compensation will be made by Operators.
Operators shall not be responsible for the costs of any other travel arrangement affected due to its cancellations or rescheduling of any Climbing Itineraries.
Operators constantly strives to improve its Itinerary. If such improvements can be made, or unforeseen circumstances beyond its control make changes necessary, the customer agrees and acknowledges that Operators reserves the right to vary itineraries and to substitute activities, accommodation and meals without prior notice to the customer
Operators shall not be responsible for any other travel arrangements affected due to the changes to its Itineraries.
We do not recommend climbers to catch your flight on the same day you descend the mountain due to possible delay from injuries, tiredness and/or bad weather and traffic conditions.
