This takes us out of the main Kenya Uganda highway with its heavy vehicular traffic. We mount our bicycles at Kisian and ride to Kit Mikayi (16 kilometers) on tarmacked road. Kit Mikayi is famous as the birthplace of the Luo Nation and is steeped in Luo culture and traditions. After a tour of this site with its monuments of huge boulders and underground caves we proceed to Ndori still biking though tropical savannah and Indian corn (maize farms). From Ndori we drive to Lwanda K’Otieno to connect to our Water bus (ferry) that takes us across Lake Victoria to Mbita Point.
