On the southern slopes of Greater Caucasus there's a unique settlement called Lahij. This settlement is notable with its authentic handicrafts traditions. Craftsmen of Lahij preserved their traditions and technologies of working on non-ferrrous metals, like copper and bronze through centuries. Cobblestoned streets of this amazing city will offer you picteresque view to tinsmiths and blacksmiths, as well as its shops, which will amaze you with carpets and rug crafts. Locals of this medieval village have developed sophisticated construction techniques due to frequent earthquakes. The experts claim that its old sewage system was built about 1500 years ago. The particular architectural style of Lahij will undoubtedly stun you with its two-storey houses and cobbled streets stretching along the banks of the Girdiman River.
