Fantastic - their knowledge is only surpassed by their hospitality and warmth. Eric and Kim are the owners of Green Acres and we can see that they have put a lot of effort into creating this beautiful organic farm with their own hands. We started off the day with Eric greeting us at the Air Itam Dam carpark. Throughout the hike, Eric shared his knowledge generously on farming, plants in the forest and the various sights (including the famous Hillturn (Hilton ;) ) rest point. The hike takes about 4.7km to their farm and is incredibly scenic coupled with the cool forest temperature. The hike is manageable and easy for beginners with clear paths. When we arrived at the farm, there was a pond with clear spring water which we could dip in. We even witnessed frogs procreating! Once we arrived, we were greeted by Kim and their son with thirst quenching fresh coconuts, fresh organic rambutans and longkongs handpicked from their farm. Kim and Eric explained how they build the organic farm from scratch and explained the different trees they had during the farm tour. The paths were slightly steeper but still manageable - Eric ensured everyone was safe throughout the tour. The tour was experiential - we even had the chance to pick rambutans and chop bananas. The tour ended with a rewarding lunch (Kerabu Bee Hoon with shrimp) and we even had a bonus of durians served to us (note: it wasn’t durian season and they typically didn’t serve it with this lunch set so we felt very lucky!). Organic durians tasted very different and fresher from those we typically had in Singapore and left us wanting more. Overall, this was a great experience in Penang and caters to crowds of varying ages (old and young)! Thank you Eric and Kim for an unforgettable experience!
