The Statue of Unity is the tallest monument in the world. At 182 m, it is almost double the height of the Statue of Liberty in the United States of America. It took three and a half years, 3000 workers and 300 engineers to complete this iconic monument. Designed by the legendary sculptor Ram V Sutar, the Statue of Unity was built with 70,000 tonnes of cement, 18,500 tonnes of reinforcement steel, 6,000 tonnes of structural steel and 1,700 metric tonnes of bronze. An elevator takes you to a viewing gallery located at a height of 153 metres. The 30 second ride leads to a panoramic views of the Sardar Sarovar Dam, its reservoir, the Satpura and Vindhya mountains.Sardar Sarovar Dam
