Pura Batu Bolong is a Hindu temple located on the coast of Batu Bolong Beach, Senggigi, West Lombok, Indonesia. This temple is unique because it stands on top of a black rock cliff that juts out into the sea, with a large hole beneath it—hence the name Batu Bolong, which means “hollow rock.”

It’s a traditional wet market selling daily needs such as vegetables, fruits, fish, meat, spices, and household goods.

Originally constructed in 1744 during the reign of a Balinese ruler who had authority over Lombok. Original Use The palace functioned as royal gardens and palace grounds (including gardens / ponds), and also served for meetings, court gatherings, and judicial proceedings. Key feature: Bale Kambang (a floating pavilion) in the artificial lake. Cultural Significance It blends Balinese Hindu influences (from the time of Bali’s rule) with local Lombok culture. It includes temples and was a royal center. There was also a battle here in 1894 between the Dutch and Balinese forces. Current Use It’s now a public park / heritage site.
