Highlights

  • Passing through endless virgin forest, the beautiful lake "Lake Shikotsu" surrounded by majestic nature comes into view. Lake Shikotsu is the northernmost ice-free lake in Japan (a lake that does not freeze in winter). It has been selected as "Japan's No. 1 Pure Water" by the Agency for the Environment, and its transparency is one of the few in Japan.
  • Lunch is arranged to be enjoyed at Toyakopantei on the shore of Lake Toya. After leaving Lake Toya, we headed to Mount Usu, which was recognized as Japan’s first Global Geopark in August 2009.
  • You can visit two of Hokkaido's most representative lakes in one day, which is a highly recommended route in winter.

The content of this product is provided by machine translation and may not

ーItinerary introductionー

  • Lake Shikotsu Lakeside

Lake Shikotsu is located in Chitose City, Hokkaido and is the southernmost
glacial lake in Hokkaido. The lake is 246 meters above sea level and is
surrounded by the Shikotsu volcanoes, including the magnificent Mount Tarumae
and Fufushidake. Because it is located in a tropical region, the lake does not
freeze all year round, and you can still enjoy the wonderful scenery of the
snow-capped mountains reflected on the lake in winter.

※Restaurant Memere can enjoy a 10% Off% discount on drinks and merchandise by
showing your bus ticket stub (some merchandise excluded). It is closed every
Thursday. Please check the official website for details.

※The Lake Shikotsu sightseeing boat is currently suspended.

※Due to power construction on November 12th and 13th, various shops along Lake
Shikotsu will be temporarily closed due to power outage, and vending machines
will not be available. Restrooms and visitor center are available for normal
use.

※During the Lake Shikotsu Ice Wave Festival (2/1-2/24), you can add additional
visits at your own expense, but the stay time is only 47 minutes. If you want
to visit, please strictly abide by the specified gathering time. If you want
to visit, please pay the admission fee of JPY1,000 for adults. Free for
elementary school students (inclusive) and below.
