The highlight of the visit is the traditional longhouse, built in the classic Kadazan-Dusun style using local materials. Inside, visitors will find one of the most intriguing and historically important displays in Sabah — the Skull House, which contains 42 skulls believed to belong to enemies defeated by Monsopiad during his lifetime. While the display may seem startling, knowledgeable local guides explain its historical and spiritual context, emphasizing that headhunting was once a ritual practice linked to protection, honor, and community survival rather than violence.
As the tour continues, guests gain insight into the daily life of the Kadazan-Dusun people through exhibits of traditional tools, weapons, musical instruments, and handicrafts. The guides, often descendants of Monsopiad himself, share captivating stories passed down through generations, bringing history to life through oral storytelling.
