Itinerary
Pedra do Sal
2 hours 30 minsAdmission Ticket FreePedra do Sal is one of the nicest spots in the area known as Little Africa. This cradle of Carioca samba has become a paradise for those who like to mix history with beer, youth, samba, and nightlife. All of this takes place in front of a large rock with a carved staircase, Pedra do Sal, a heritage listed in 1984. The staircase gives access to Morro da Conceição. This area of Porto Maravilha is called Little Africa because it was a point of sale and exchange for slaves and shelter for quilombos. There, the salt from the ships that docked in the port was unloaded, the origin of the meeting of dockers sambistas.
