The form of Shiva's consort Parvati worshipped at this temple is called Karpagambal (goddess of the wish-yielding tree). Location - Mylapore: Ptolemy, the Greek Geographer (A.D. 90-168) has referred to Mylapore in his books. The Saint Thiruvalluvar who wrote 2000 couplets of Thirukkural believed to have lived here 2000 years back. Temple: Built around 300 years back.
