Apsara Dance Performance - Dinner
A journey to Cambodia is not complete if you don’t experience a performance of the Apsara dance, considered a part of the Khmer identity. This traditional dance is a form of Cambodian classic dance, in the heart of the Cambodian culture.
This dance knows a new fast-growing resurgence after its ban and bloody suppression by the Khmer Rouge regime of Pol Pot (90% of the dancers and musicians were killed). An Apsara is a woman spirit in the Buddhist and Hindu mythology. Apsara dancers are young, elegant and wear traditional costume. Their movements focus principally on the hands and feet. They tell a history and each gesture of the hands symbolises the main steps of the cycle of nature.
After this captivating show set in a unique wooden theatre guests will enjoy a traditional Khmer dinner.
