How to Prepare

  • Sea sickness medication is highly recommended – our expeditions travel into the remote, open waters of the Bremer Canyon, where conditions can be lively and changeable. Please seek advice from your GP or pharmacist.

  • Dress warmly – wear warm, layered clothing as it can be considerably cooler out at sea.

  • Bring waterproof clothing – conditions can change throughout the day.

  • Wear flat, closed-in shoes – suitable footwear is important for moving safely around the vessel.

Testimonials:

_ _Amanda W - April 2026__

"What can I say!!.. because what ever I do say will not do this tour/day
full justice. It was amazing, stunning and exciting from start to finish.

We experienced the Orcas in their natural habitat for hours... just to watch
them glide around and under the boat as a family pod with babies, one very new
was a true honour to behold.

The staff on board are so knowledgeable and constantly coming around the
boat answering questions and making the whole trip fun.

They cater for dietary requirements and there's plenty food and selection of
hot and cold drinks during the trip.

I cannot recommend this trip enough, its a bucket list experience for
sure... we travelled from the uk and it was so so worth it.

Thank you all.. ❤️ a memory that will stay for life ?"

_ _Zac S - March 2026__

"The best experience I’ve done in W.A.

I took a 5 day road trip from Perth down to Bremer Bay specifically for this
trip and it did not disappoint! I’m glad I chose this company, I can’t speak
for the other charter company, but naturaliste the staff were amazing. They
were so enthusiastic to share their knowledge about the orca and really
catered to everyone’s needs onboard. We stayed out later too to maximise our
time seeing the animals.

We were treated with Dolphins in the morning and spent a lot time with the
baby orca Nibbles. It was so breathtaking and exciting to watch ?, all the
while learning about their really cool behaviours and family structure.

Thank you so much for a bucket list item I never knew I had! ?"

Preparing for Your Expedition

The Bremer Canyon Killer Whale Expedition is a full-day, open-ocean experience
travelling approximately 24 nautical miles offshore. Conditions can be lively
and may change throughout the day.

Please bring:

  • Warm, layered clothing
  • A waterproof jacket
  • Flat, enclosed, non-slip shoes
  • A beanie, scarf and secure hat
  • Sunscreen and lip balm
  • A towel
  • Camera or phone
  • Any required medication

Drones and underwater cameras attached to poles, tethers or other deployment
equipment are not permitted onboard due to safety and permit requirements.

Seasickness

Seasickness is common on this expedition, even for passengers who do not
usually experience it.

We strongly recommend speaking with your doctor or pharmacist about suitable
seasickness medication before departure. Take any medication according to its
directions or the advice of your healthcare professional and bring any
additional doses you may require during the day.

Seasickness alone will not ordinarily require the vessel to return to shore.

Medical Conditions and Mobility

Please contact us before your expedition if anyone in your booking:

  • has a medical condition, illness or injury that may affect their participation;
  • has limited mobility or requires assistance;
  • is pregnant;
  • has a history of severe seasickness;
  • requires medication, oxygen or medical equipment; or
  • may require special assistance during an emergency.

The expedition operates in a remote area where immediate access to medical
facilities and emergency services is not available. Returning to shore can
take a significant amount of time.

Passengers must bring sufficient quantities of any required medication and
keep it readily accessible throughout the expedition.

Providing medical or mobility information does not necessarily prevent
participation. It allows us to determine whether the expedition is suitable
and whether appropriate arrangements can be made.

Medical Emergencies

If a passenger becomes seriously unwell or injured, our crew may administer
first aid, contact emergency services, change course or return the vessel to
shore.

The Master has final authority over navigational and emergency decisions. If
the vessel must return because of a medical emergency or serious safety
incident, the expedition may be shortened or ended early for everyone onboard.

Passenger safety must take priority over completing the expedition. Any
refund, credit or return-tour offer will be considered according to the
circumstances, how much of the expedition was completed and any rights
applying under the Australian Consumer Law.

Weather and Tour Updates

Expeditions are subject to suitable weather, sea and operational conditions,
as well as minimum passenger requirements.

Please ensure the mobile number attached to your booking is correct, as we may
contact you if your expedition is delayed, changed or cancelled.

If Naturaliste Charters cancels your expedition, we will endeavour to transfer
you to another available departure. Where this cannot be arranged, the refund
conditions contained in our Terms and Conditions will apply.

Accommodation

Accommodation in Bremer Bay is limited and can book out well in advance. We
strongly recommend securing your accommodation as early as possible.

Privacy Policy, which you acknowledged during the online booking process.
