Highlights

This is a tour combining with exploration of culture and history in Kunming, capital of Yunnan province. Kunming is called “Spring City” for its great climate like perpetual spring all year around. Because of this reason, all kinds of  flowers bloom all around the year, so Kunming is famous for flower markets. Kunming locals love to have flowers in their property so the flower markets are very busy around the year. The flowers used in the 2008 Beijing Olympic Games were delivered from Kunming. We will show you China’s biggest fresh flower market- Dounan Flower and Bird Market, where you can see all kinds of flowers and learn how to arrange flowers. Visit the Dragon Gate in West Hill, the most popular and must-see site out of Kunming city, nearby Dianchi Lake, where you can visit temples carved on the side of a natural cliff and admire a big panoramic view of Kunming.

Itinerary

In the morning, your driver and tour guide will pick you up at your hotel (within the second ring road of Kunming) and we will drive to the Western Hill.Up the western hills, cultural temples are mixed with natural cliffs, taoist grottos, flowers and forests. Especially when we go through the stone corridor carved into the face of the cliff, you can really feel how dangerous and difficult work it must have been to build all this. You can visit a big Taoist Grotto close to the dragon gate and on the mountain top, you can enjoy a big panoramic view of Kunming .

Dounan Flower Market, which is the biggest fresh flower trade market in China. They have more than 66 categories of flowers and trade more than 300 varieties a day. From there, more than 280-tons of fresh flowers are exported to the whole world, by road, train or plane. In the market you can learn how to arrange seasonal flowers and who knows, you may even find your hidden talent. At the end of the day, we will drive back to Kunming.
