Highlights
Are you looking for an all-in-one place to have fun in Seoul? Well, you're in the right place. Welcome to Lotte World! An indoor and outdoor theme park rolled into one, there's something for everyone here, from adrenaline junkies to cultural seekers. Here are must-see highlights for your next itinerary in the capital:
Lotte World Adventure - Indoor Theme Park
This part of the park is titled "Adventure" and for good reason. There's plenty of it to be found here. You've got roller coasters like the full-looping French Revolution ride and the space-themed Comet Express. There's the Conquistador, a heart-pumping Viking ship, and The Adventures of Sinbad, a chilled-out boat ride. And not forgetting The Flume Ride, which will zip you past dinosaurs from the Jurassic era. Oh, and what's cool is that all this is housed in a climate-controlled glass dome. That means you can enjoy the park no matter the season or weather. You can even take an escalator down to the B3 floor to check out the ice rink - how cool is that?
Magic Island - Outdoor Theme Park
The fun's not all just indoors. Head outside to Magic Island, which has serious fairytale vibes. The view of Seokchon Lake is one of the prettiest during the cherry blossom season. As for the iconic castle outside, it is literally Seoul's answer to Disneyland and one of the must-see photo zones around. And yes, there are rides too. The pendulum-like Gyro Swing is tailor-made for thrill-seekers, as is the drop tower that is the Gyro Drop. Add the Atlantis, a traditional coaster with water elements, and you're all set for a day of fun in the sun.
Lotte World Folk Museum
It's not all coasters and Instagrammable spots here. If you need a break from all the excitement, enjoy some cultural immersion at the Lotte World Folk Museum. It has 2,000 dolls depicting daily life during the Joseon Dynasty all the way to the Japanese occupation, with the miniature village a real highlight. Definitely unique as far as theme parks go. You may be able to catch cultural performances too! And good news: it's easy to find as well. You can head through Jamsil Station (Exit 4), which is connected to the complex and also covered by your day pass. Just take note that the museum's operating hours are from 11am to 7pm daily.
Pro tip: The park is conveniently located right opposite the Lotte World Tower (home to the 555-metre-high Seoul Sky observatory from the 117th to 123rd floor). So if you're looking to extend your adventure, that might be an ideal option for you.
- Don't forget Magic Island, a gorgeous artificial island on the fringes of Seokchon Lake, where you can find many more thrilling rides.
- Check out iconic Lotte World rides like Gyro Drop, Atlantis Adventure, and French Revolution - favourites that'll get your heart pumping in no time.
- Pose for a photo in front of the famed Lotte World Carousel featured in K-dramas like Business Proposal, Stairway to Heaven, and Hyde, Jekyll, Me.
- Go for a Lotte World uniform rental to channel your favourite K-drama moment in style and enjoy the park like how locals do.

Frequently asked questions
Beyond the amusement park rides, do yourself a favour and catch live parades and performances. Tourists can also go ice skating or step into the Lotte World Folk Museum for a taste of Korean history. Don’t miss the Lotte World Aquarium right next door, or head up to the Lotte World Tower for panoramic city views from the 123rd floor. Talk about an all-in-one spot!
Coming from Myeongdong? Hop on Line 2 at Euljiro 1-ga or Euljiro 3-ga Station and ride directly to Jamsil Station. You can also take one of the blue, green, or express buses that stop at Jamsil. And of course, taxis are easy to find anywhere in Seoul if you prefer a direct ride.
Seoul’s park is smaller in size but offers a wider range of rides and attractions, including its famous indoor zone. Busan’s park covers a larger area and has fewer rides overall, but they’re packed with high-thrill experiences.
The Busan location is also less crowded, while Seoul’s has the popular indoor monorail, parades, and its “Island,” known for cherry blossom views in spring. If you want an all-weather theme park with year-round entertainment, go for Seoul. If you prefer more space and fewer crowds, Busan is your pick.
One popular spot is Seoul Seoul 3080, which recreates the atmosphere of 1930s Jongro and 1980s Myeongdong. It’s a nostalgic dining experience where you can try classic Korean dishes like bibimbap (mixed rice with meat and vegetables).
Everland Resort in Yongin, about 40 kilometres from Seoul, is larger and more spread out. It’s packed with family-friendly rides, outdoor attractions, and themed zones. The trade-off? It’s a 40- to 70-minute drive from the city, so plan your travel time accordingly.
In short, Lotte World is best for convenience and weather-proof fun, while Everland is ideal for families and anyone who prefers open spaces and a full-day park adventure.
Feeling adventurous? Try the Sky Bridge Tour, a thrilling walk 541 metres above ground that connects the two structures of Lotte World Tower. Definitely not for the faint of heart!
If you’d rather take it easy, visit the Lotte World Aquarium (it’s not inside the park) or stop by the Lotte Department Store for some retail therapy. All these attractions are in the same area, so you can easily explore them before or after your theme park visit.

Hybrid indoor and outdoor theme park. Lots of food options and there is admission to a folk museum (we spent 2 hours there) that is within Lotte World Mall. There is a path there from the indoor portion of the theme park and you are allowed 1 re-entry stamp back into the park.
