- Naejangsan
The name Naejangsan means 'many secrets hidden within the mountain.' Every
autumn, the entire mountain is painted with vibrant red maple leaves. As one
of the must-visit spots for autumn foliage in Korea, Naejangsan National Park
in Jeollabuk-do is home to over 700 species of plants and wildlife. It offers
stunning scenery throughout the four seasons, with its maple leaves being
particularly famous. It also extends into Jangseong-gun in Jeollanam-do.
Branching off from the Sobaek Mountains and reaching the Honam Plain, it has
formed the best autumn mountain in Korea. Covering a total area of 81.715㎢, it
was designated as a national park along with the Baekyangsa Temple area on
November 17, 1971.
