Right next to the Bus Station is the Pettah Fruit and Vegetable Market, a goldmine of fresh produce brought in from all around the island. As such the street is extremely busy, despite it's being one-way only. Therefore coming up on the calm piece of beauty amongst all the noisy hubbub of the city always is quite a pleasant shock.

Sri Kailasanathar Swami Devasthanam, or Kapikaawatha Shivan Temple as it is also called by its devotees, is the oldest Hindu Temple in Colombo. Dedicated to the gods Ganesha and Shiva, the temple has been around for over two centuries. It’s also one of the most beautiful temples in Colombo.
