Highlights

This experience is a rich blend of tradition, craftsmanship, and cultural immersion. It begins with a hands-on wood carving workshop led by a skilled local artisan with decades of experience, allowing you to learn one of Bhaktapur’s most iconic crafts. After the workshop, enjoy a traditional Newari meal and take time to explore the historic surroundings. Rather than simply touring a heritage site, this experience invites you to connect with Bhaktapur’s artistic legacy in a personal and meaningful way.

Itinerary

  • Pottery Square (Talako Tole)

Stroll through traditional pottery square alleys, get your hands on woodcarving, and explore the infamous Bhaktapur Durbar Square. Gather at the meeting point, and thereafter you will be transferred to the woodcarving workshop at Bhaktapur. The local experts will lead you through the process, starting with an introduction to woodcarving's history and tools. Create intricate patterns on a provided knot, gradually mastering the tools. Once finished, paint your creation, enjoy a traditional Newari Lunch, and take home your crafted piece. Explore Bhaktapur's historic lanes, admiring the ages-old art around Durbar squares, completing a rich cultural experience within a day.
