Sharm El Sheikh is the largest city in the South Sinai Governorate and an international tourist center, where it is famous for its diving sports.

It is the most famous tourist city in the Sinai, and tourism activity has evolved greatly in the last twenty years. The importance of Sharm El Sheikh lies in its location at the head of the Red Sea. Then, it branched into the Gulf of Suez and Aqaba, which led to a more distinctive environment which is the main element in the tourist attraction. That is why there are in and around the most important natural reserves in Ras Muhammed and Nabq. In front of Sharm El-Sheikh there are Tiran and Sanafir islands at the entrance to the Gulf of Aqaba .. Among the most important areas are Ras Nasrani and Ras Umm Sid, next to Ras Muhammad.
