This tour, designed to uncover the Renaissance treasures of Tuscia in northern Lazio begin with the charming village of Caprarola stands the majestic Palazzo Farnese designed by Antonio da Sangallo and Vignola. Originally built as a defensive fortress, the palace was later transformed into a grand noble residence with five floors, including underground chambers. Inside, some of the most fascinating spaces include the Scala Regia, a magnificent spiral staircase columns and the stunning Sala del Mappamondo. The second stop on the tour is Villa Lante consists of two elegantly frescoed twin palazzos, symmetrically positioned along the garden’s central axis. However, it is the garden itself that dominates the entire complex, with its lush greenery and intricate water features creating an atmosphere of perfect harmony

You will be able to walk the spiral staircase called Scala Regia or the "Royal Stairs" and see the Piano dei Prelati floor, which leads to the broad terrace. You can witness the amazing frescoes of the winter suite, the famous "Room of the World Map" or “Sala del Mappamondo”, displaying the world as it was in 1574 when the frescoes were completed. Gaze at the depiction of the continents on one side of the wall while the wall opposite the planisphere is devoted to the lands where Christianity and the church originated, Judea and Italy. The water comes from a triumph of geometries designed by evergreen hedges and peperino statues and follows a path that creates special basins and water games.
