Who says most animals hibernate or stay hidden during winter at the zoo?
Visiting Asahiyama Zoo in Hokkaido on a snowy day is an absolute delight! (The
penguin walk is scheduled to run from December to March, with the morning walk
taking place at 11:00 AM).

• Hokkaido Famous Christmas Tree

This is a spruce tree standing in the middle of a field. It earned its name
because it looks just like a Christmas tree and is the only tree in the entire
field.

• When taking photos, please 'step back' and stay on the asphalt road. This way, you can capture the blue sky, white clouds, and the field all in one frame.

  
  

• If you see other tourists entering the farmland to take photos, please 'politely' remind them by saying: 'Excuse me, please do not step into the farmland'.

  
  

• Biei Blue Pond

  
  

The water in the Blue Pond contains rich minerals and sediments from volcanic
ash. Under the sunlight, the pond displays various shades of color as the
environment subtly changes. You never know what it will look like next, which
makes it full of anticipation.

• Shirahige Waterfall

Named 'Shirahige' (White Beard) because the water cascading through the cracks
in the rocks resembles a white beard. The water gushing from underground hits
the rocks, creating waves that glow with a blue light. You can enjoy the
contrast between the lush green scenery in summer and the snow-covered
landscape in winter.

• If Asahiyama Zoo is closed (closure dates: April 8 - April 30, 2026; November 4 - November 10; December 30 - December 31), this itinerary will be changed to: Famous Christmas Tree (15 minutes) — Blue Pond (30 minutes) — Shirahige Waterfall (20 minutes) — Yumoto Shirogane Onsen (approx. 120 minutes). If the hot spring is temporarily closed or unavailable, it will be replaced by another hot spring of the same type. When the zoo is closed, the itinerary sequence and timing may be adjusted based on road conditions on the day; thank you for your understanding.

• Each person is entitled to bring one piece of luggage for free, with no size limit (please inform us in advance when booking; if not informed in advance, the driver/guide has the right to refuse boarding if the vehicle is crowded, and no refund will be provided). For any additional luggage, a fee of 2000 JPY per piece must be paid on-site.
• Children aged 0-2 who do not occupy a seat can be held in your lap; children aged 3 and above are charged the same as adults. If you fail to inform us about a child not occupying a seat, we reserve the right to refuse boarding, and no refund will be provided.
• The tour guide will not contact passengers in advance. On the day of the tour, passengers must go to the meeting point on their own and report to the guide or staff member wearing a 'yellow vest' or holding a 'GOGODAY yellow flag'. Please cooperate with each other and follow the guide's arrangements.
• Reference vehicle types: 5-8 seater: Toyota Alphard; 9-14 seater: Toyota Hiace or equivalent; 18-22 seater: minibus; 22+ seater: large bus. The above vehicles are for reference only; the actual vehicle will be adjusted based on the number of participants on the day.
• Driver-guide service: 1-13 person small group; Driver + Guide service: 14-45 person bus tour. The actual service will be adjusted based on the number of participants on the day.
