One of the museum's significant features is several galleries dedicated to a spectacular group of statues found in 1989, hidden beneath the floor of the Luxor Temple. Additionally, there is a newly built annex that focuses on Egypt's Golden Age during the New Kingdom (circa 1550-1070 BC). This annex includes two royal mummies and offers a short film on ancient papyrus and vase-making techniques.
