**Itinerary: **
Day 1 | (Departing 6:30am) Drive Day & Pemberton - Warren Campsite (14
km)
After driving down to Pemberton in the South West of WA you will kick off day
one of hiking at the the Cascades in Gloucester National Park. You will begin
the hike by walking through a tall and lush karri forest with moss covered
fallen trees and thick karri hazel undergrowth. The fungi throughout the
forest is incredible! You’ll pass through farmland and some stunning rolling
hills, before entering the forest again towards Warren River. A steep ascent
up to Warren campsite and home for the night! Day 1 is a big effort, but
you’ll be rewarded with a hot track meal and a campfire (weather permitting).
Day 2 | Warren Campsite - Schafer Campsite (22.1 km)
A nice downhill to start the day to the very special River Road Bridge. Today
we will weave between wide and narrow track through lush karri forest with
plenty more fungi on display! We'll get even more spectacular views of the
Warren River today before we move through some farmland before we reach
Schafer Dam and campsite. Today is a very enjoyable day of hiking with not too
many hills, but plenty of lush forest to immerse yourself in!
Day 3 | Schafer Campsite - Northcliffe (14.5 km)
The views from camp looking down at the dam are just spectacular, but alas you
must continue with your hike as today is day 3 and your final day on the
track. Today the forest is a mix of karri and marri/jarrah as you move along a
fairly flat trail towards Northcliffe. There will be some lovely green
pastures to hike alongside before you head back deep into the forest and the
lovely Gardner River.
Before you know it, you’ll be walking into the town of Northcliffe and
checking in to local accommodation signifying you have completed three days on
the Bibbulmun track! After a hot shower, you’ll enjoy a delicious dinner at
the local pub and celebrate our adventure together.
