During the tour you will know how Gabo lived in the fifties and the places that were part of his daily routine, such as the New York Skyscraper and the sector where the World Bookstore and the Colombian Cafe were located.
We will also visit some of the most emblematic sites of the city, such as the church of San Nicolas; the Church of Perpetual Help, where he married; the River Administration, home of the Yellow Butterflies monument; and the statue of García Márquez located in the old Customs building.
In addition, we will tour the neighborhood El Prado, home of the celebrated Hotel El Prado, renowned for its republican architecture and for being the scene of romantic encounters between Gabo and Mercedes. We will continue through authentic sectors such as Barrio Abajo, where we will visit one of the houses he inhabited during his youth.
Finally, we will arrive at the legendary Restaurant La Cueva, meeting point of the famous Barranquilla Group.
