In addition to the main house, there are shrines, the main hall of the temple, and a watermill, and you can even tour the attic of the main house. Among them, the Yamashita family is one of the few remaining 18th-century gassho-zukuri houses in Shirakawa Village.

The driver is very helpful but the bus company decided to have Too many stopovers and stations. That means shorter time to spend at Shirakawa-go. I hope they can offer direct bus or minibus service from Nagowa to Shirakawa-go soon.

It was a great choice if you want to control your pen phase and itinerary around the village because its basically only a transportation round trip from nagoya to shirakawa go. Prepare your self with some snack and nread if you have kids with you, since the restaurant and snack stalls can be pretty full around the village.
