
Yonghe Temple, also known as the Lama Temple, is a renowned Tibetan Buddhist temple located in the Dongcheng District of Beijing. Built in the 17th century, it is one of the largest and most important Tibetan Buddhist monasteries in the world outside of Tibet. The temple complex consists of five main halls, each adorned with intricate carvings, colorful murals, and statues of Buddha. Visitors can explore the beautiful architecture, tranquil courtyards, and lush gardens within the temple grounds. The highlight of the temple is the 26-meter tall statue of Maitreya Buddha carved from a single sandalwood tree.
