Restaurant Introduction
Minokichi, one of the eight designated fresh fish restaurants by the Kyoto
Magistrate during the Edo period, was founded in 1716. It continues to achieve
great success in the Kyoto cuisine industry. In 1950, Minokichi moved to its
current address and in 1992 was renamed Takemoro, meaning "a restaurant with
lush bamboo groves." Every room in the restaurant offers views of a Zen-
inspired Japanese bamboo garden through its windows, adding to its elegant and
