Great trip but not sure why we had to leave our hotel so early. We arrived at the river 2 hours before our scheduled trip so just had to sit there. Once on the boat it was a great experience and we saw lots of wildlife. Back to the base for dinner before leaving for the 2 hour drive back to sandakan, the roads are dreadful with so many pot holes and the mini bus drivers are on a mission to get to the destination as quick as possible even if it means over taking in not very safe places!
