Highlights
Step into the world of traditional Japanese Ukiyo-e art with a hands-on printing experience at the Kamigata Ukiyo-e Museum. Choose from three courses: beginner, intermediate, and advanced, and create your own Ukiyo-e print under the guidance of an expert instructor.
Using the museum’s original woodblocks, you’ll print 3 to 4 colors onto high-quality Japanese paper. Even beginners can create unique artwork by experimenting with different painting techniques, baren rubbing, and pressure application.
This experience allows you to appreciate the vital role of “printing” in the Ukiyo-e production process. Once completed, you’ll receive your finished piece in an original clear file to take home as a souvenir.
New Year’s Holiday Closures: The experience will be unavailable from December 29 to January 3.
