This is your first step into understanding what our dance culture is all about. To help you relax and get in the perfect mood to move, you’ll be welcomed with a refreshing cocktail — the perfect way to loosen up and shake off any nerves before hitting the dance floor. Then we’ll dive into salsa: you’ll learn how to decode the music so you can truly feel the rhythm, followed by essential steps that will get you dancing with confidence and joy. After a full hour of salsa, we’ll switch gears and turn up the heat with champeta — a high-energy, body-shaking dance born right here in Cartagena, inspired by the vibrant sounds of Africa and the Caribbean. It’s fun, powerful, and impossible not to enjoy! Hydration is included, so you’ll stay refreshed and ready to keep moving throughout the class. See you on the dance floor!
