WHAT YOU CAN EXPECT
This full-day tour takes you upstream of the Perfume River, where history and
nature intertwine. After a short drive from Hue city center, you’ll cycle
along shaded lanes and floating bridges, passing through tranquil villages and
lush gardens. Visit the majestic mausoleum of Emperor Gia Long, the founder of
Vietnam’s last dynasty, and explore the former Duong Hoa war zone, now reborn
in peace and greenery.
A stop at a local herbal farm offers an authentic break: sip fresh tea, learn
about the distillation of rose hydrosol and melaleuca oil, and enjoy a healthy
lunch made with homegrown vegetables. Spend time discovering Vietnamese herbs
and their role in traditional medicine and daily life. If time and weather
allow, cool off with a refreshing swim in the Perfume River before continuing
your cycling journey.
This experience is flexible, with cycling distances from 5km to 20km, making
it suitable for most active travelers. You may return by vehicle or extend
your cycling route for a deeper connection with the land. Optional visits to
other royal mausoleums or art spaces can also be arranged after the tour.
