- Spot Introduction -
- Lingering Garden (World Heritage Site), one of the Four Great Gardens of
China -
The Lingering Garden is one of the Four Great Gardens of China, alongside the
Humble Administrator's Garden in Suzhou, the Summer Palace in Beijing, and the
Chengde Mountain Resort. It was registered as a World Heritage site in 1997 as
a classic Chinese garden. You will be captivated by the exquisite beauty of
its architecture and the scenic harmony woven by the ponds and greenery. In
summer, lotus flowers bloom in the garden's ponds, making it even more
beautiful.
- Tiger Hill Pagoda (Huqiu) -
Tiger Hill, which the Song Dynasty poet Su Dongpo famously described as a
place you must visit if you travel to Suzhou, features an octagonal, seven-
story pagoda standing 47.5 meters tall. Due to ground subsidence, the pagoda
is tilted, earning it the nickname 'China's Leaning Tower of Pisa.'
- Hanshan Temple (Ancient Temple with a Thousand-Year History) -
Founded during the Tianjian era (502-519) of the Southern Liang Dynasty, this
temple boasts over 1,000 years of history. It is famous for the stone tablet
inscribed with the seven-character quatrain 'Night Mooring at Maple Bridge' by
the Tang Dynasty poet Zhang Ji.
