The beautiful Uyuni salt flats are the world’s largest salt flat. It is located in the Department of Potosi in Southwest Bolivia at 3.650 meters above sea level.
Isla del Pescado (Fish Island), which is located on the salt flat, is full of giant cactuses and named this way as the ´island´ has the shape of a fish. It is the only sign of life for miles.
Laguna Verde, Laguna Colorada and the hot springs can also be visited during this tour. Laguna Verde is a beautiful green colored lake close to the Chilean border at the foot of the Licancabur volcano. Its color is caused by sediments, containing copper minerals. Laguna Colorada is a red colored lake, also because of the presence of minerals. The lagoons together with the flamingos create a very unique scene of spectacular beauty!

After a 45-minute flight, you will land at the International Airport of Uyuni, where you will meet your English-speaking professional guide and your driver. Your trip will then begin with a visit to an outdoor museum of ancient and impressive field trains. You will enter the Salar by Colchani where you will be able to see the salt process and piles of salt, and visit a salt hotel before continuing downtown to visit the Incahuasi Island of volcanic rock and giant cacti. This is also an area that can be climbed to attain extraordinary viewpoints of the white salt plain. The cold here is intense, and you will see pools where the land seems to boil red. The desert and Salar de Chalviri is another scene of great landscape value that combines the white snow, ocher desert, the blue of the water, and the white of the borax. In one corner you can take a bath in Termas de Polques, and enjoy a hearty breakfast outdoors. After leaving this desert valley, you will visit the Laguna Verde, at the foot of the Licancabur Volcano. You will arrive at this lagoon just in time to see how the water goes from emerald green to a duller shade of blueish-green. You will then return in the car, stopping for lunch at Laguna Colorada, the main nesting center of the three species of flamingos.
