These water holes or "cenotes" have a great cultural and historical importance as they were considered sacred by the ancient mayans who believed they were the entrance to the underworld. They also feature stunning rock formations that took millions of years to form and numerous fossils in the walls as witnesses of time.
The cenotes provide fresh water to many communities and are necessary to keep the natural equilibrium of the Yucatan peninsula.
Itinerary
You do not need to be a very experienced diver, our professional staff of cave divers will safely guide you into this mystical world. This cavern system is not a 100% overhead environment so during the dives in the cenotes you will always see light and find multiple big open exits.
You do not have to be a very experienced diver, however you need to be Open Water diver certified or equivalent to do this activity.
The tour includes transportation from/to your hotel, two-tank dive, equipment, flash light, entrance fee to the cenote property, lunch box and beverages.
