Highlights
Take a thrilling ride through Joshua Tree National Park in a comfortable open-air Hummer. Please note: this tour is unavailable December–February due to frigid high-elevation temps. During these months take our Joshua Tree Scenic Tour in our heated van. It’s often 20–30°F cooler in the park—dress in layers!
Depart from the Palm Springs Art Museum at 8:30 am (with a scenic, air-conditioned shuttle ride) or save with our Yucca Valley Welcome Center departure where the open-air portion begins. The full tour lasts about 5 hours when taking our shuttle.

We climb to the top of a breathtaking overlook called Keys Point that will give you a stunning view of the valley below and a view that stretches all the way to Mexico.Keys View

From this high point in Joshua Tree you can see as far as the Salton Sea and all the way down to Mexico on a clear day. You might even be able to make out your hotel on this escarpment that borders the famous San Andreas Fault. Look below this ledge we will stop at and you will see the fault line itself which stretches for over 800 miles.Barker Dam Trail
45 minsAdmission Ticket FreeWe offer an optional mile walk on this view that meanders through jaw-dropping beauty that includes the monzo granite formations of Joshua Tree as well as forests of these ancient plants that survived the Ice Age. Your Hummer guide will escort you through this area and he is a certified Wilderness guide trained in the geology of this area as well as aware of its more recent Native American history.Cap Rock Trail
30 minsAdmission Ticket FreeThis offers you an additional half-mile optional walk that loops you around precarious rock formations that balance upon one another. This is one of the most photographed areas in the park and well worth a stop and visit. Do not forget your cameras!
