Despite the rain, the kayaking session was great. Great introduction to this activity for the kids.
I chose this programme as it's the cheapest kayaking activity listed here. My first experience using Pelago and I'm very satisfied with the response time of my booking confirmation. The free tuk tuk van pick up was punctual at the hotel lobby - transport was not so comfortable as the vehicle was old and the driver drove like he's in a racing event! Thankfully, we reached the kayaking company (Viewpoint Kayak) intact, lol (only 4 tourists in the shared tuk tuk). There's a 1-minute stop at a small pineapple plantation (driver had asked if any of us wanted to get off to take some photos but nobody onboard was keen) before the start of the kayak session. I chose the earliest morning session as this seems to be the one with the least number of visitors (indeed, it felt more relaxing and there's less intense sunlight). Some of the life-vests and dry bags were really smelly - the operator really don't bother to give them a good wash! There's a basic, reasonably clean toilet and locker for use before you start your kayaking. This area has started to charge park entry fee (pay when you arrive at the kayak company - 50 baht per foreigner). At the end of the kayak session, there's a small area near the kayak mooring site where you are given fish food to feed the fish (lots of them!). Overall, I enjoyed the experience, especially the scenery and beauty of the clear water (the paddler I hired couldn't speak much English but he put in commendable efforts to point out sights of interests eg exotic water plants, birds, source of the spring etc). Not particularly outstanding or luxurious in this Kayak company's service but for this price, I'm satisfied with the experience (simply to get the transport & kayaking logistics organised and thus not expecting high standards from them).
