Beppu Park features around 100 large Someiyoshino cherry trees that bloom vibrantly from late March to early April, creating picturesque avenues and lawns perfect for hanami picnics. Located just a 10–15 minute walk from JR Beppu Station, the spacious park also displays tulips and azaleas alongside sakura, offering a relaxing stroll amid open fields and a scenic pond.
Beppu Ropeway provides a cable car ascent to Mt. Tsurumi (1,345m), where approximately 2,000 cherry trees, including Someiyoshino and Oshima varieties, blanket the surrounding Tsurumidake Nature Park in pink during early to mid-April. From the summit, visitors enjoy panoramic views of Beppu Bay, the city, and Kuju Mountains, with short walking paths and seasonal photo spots accessible after a 20-minute bus ride from Beppu Station.
