Highlights
Meeting with a private licensed guide in Milan for a tour that, starting from Castello Sforzesco, will stop first at a historic confectioner’s for your breakfast, based either on an espresso or a cappuccino or fruit juice and a slice of the traditional Panettone. Walking along Via Dante, you will stop at Piazza degli Affari, which was the seat of the Mint and the so-called “shouted market” in high medieval times. After a Salame Milano and Gorgonzola cheese tasting you will reach Piazza dei Mercanti, the medieval core of economic exchanges among traders and Piazza Duomo, where, admiring the spires of the Cathedral, you will sip a glass of Campari. Your walk will continue along the famous Galleria Vittorio Emanuele, livened up by elegant cafés and restaurants. From Piazza della Scala and its homonymous Opera House, you will take a short walk to Brera district. Your last stop will be the famous “cotoletta alla milanese”.
Itinerary
Piazza Castello, 2
A good combination between a private half-day walking tour rich in anecdotes about ancient crafts, popular beliefs and medieval trade cores and a tasty food-tour in Milan, during which you will discover some of the most important districts, such as Brera, in the past “the small Venice”, now the “the milanese Montmartre”. Starting with a nice breakfast based on Panettone and 100% Italian Expresso or Cappuccino, you will continue with Gorgonzola cheese and "salami Milano" in a historical shop, then you will sip the well-known Campari alcoholic drink, and the so-called "cotoletta alla milanese" (an-fried veal cutlet) in a unusual street-food version! During the trip you will enjoy some of the most famous monuments, such as the Sforza Castle, the Duomo (main Cathedral) and the alla Scala Opera House.
